How it Works Every year, local nursing homes and hospitals contact us requesting that we organize groups of volunteers to visit their residents and patients. In order for us to schedule a visit, we enroll a volunteer to be a Team Leader for that visit.
What Team Leaders Do Team Leaders are the "visit hosts". They make arrangements with the facility, choosing dates and times for the visits. They enroll the visitors (with our assistance). They lead short opening and closing meetings on the visit day. (We provide training and materials.)
Training Team Leaders start by reading the Team Leader Guidelines. Then, they are trained either in person or over the phone by a Steering Committee member.
How to Sign Up If you are interested in finding out more about being a Team Leader, take a look at our Team Leader Guidelines. Still interested? Send an e-mail to holidayprojectdc@hotmail.com or call 703-370-0370.
