For the third year, Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace will honor The Holiday Project with a benefit concert. On September 25, 2002 DellaRatta performed at the United Nations, leading a band consisting of Israeli, Palestinian, and European, Asian and American musicians in what is now considered one of the most significant cultural events of our time! The UN concert led to a benefit concert series that has gone on to raise funds, publicity and awareness for over 400 non-profit organizations as well as an educational program to bring jazz back into the schools and to donate musical instruments to underprivileged children.

Jazz for Peace has garnered support and praise from distinguished Americans such as Senator John McCain, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, activist Noam Chomsky, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and many more, along with music lovers and humanitarians worldwide of all ages and nationalities!

Participation with The Holiday Project for both Bobby and Sally Anderson began before they met each other. Sally joined The Holiday Project Steering Committee in New York City in 1981. During the past 28 years, she also volunteered to help organize visits in Florida, California and Virginia. In addition, she served for 61/2 years as Executive Director of the national organization and currently serves as Chairman of the Board.

Sally and Bobby met when she moved to Northern Virginia in 1997. After volunteering for several years on the Washington DC Steering Committee, Bobby had been elected President. He served in that position during the national organization’s transition and was instrumental in creating The Holiday Project of the National Capital Area, Inc., as a 501(c)(3) non profit incorporation. He also currently serves on the national organization Board of Directors.

In 2005, Bobby and Sally got married and moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia. They continue to organize visits and also serve on the National Capital Area Board of Directors.
